South Dakota State hosts NAIA opponent Dakota Wesleyan Wednesday evening in the Jackrabbits' final nonconference game of the season.
The Jacks are 3-7 on the season and 2-2 in home contests. SDSU most recently fell 79-73 to K-State Saturday afternoon.
Five Jackrabbits are averaging about nine points per contest, led by
Paige Meyer's 9.7 PPG.
Tylee Irwin adds 9.6 points on average, followed by
Myah Selland (9.3),
Paiton Burckhard (9.2) and
Tori Nelson (9.0). Burckhard grabs 5.4 rebounds per game while Meyer gives out 3.4 assists, both team highs.
Dakota Wesleyan is 10-2 on the year with a 4-2 mark in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The Tigers knocked off No. 22 Dordt 80-75 in conference action over the weekend. Matti Reiner paces the Tiger offense with 13.3 points per game. Jada Campbell is also a double-digit contributer with 12.7 PPG and shoots 51 percent from the field. Kaylee Kirk ranks third in scoring (8.9 PPG) and is the team's top rebounder (6.9 RPG) and passer (4.9 APG).
