South Dakota State returned to Frost to host a pair of Summit League contests this week. After beating North Dakota State 77-60 Thursday night, SDSU will host North Dakota Saturday afternoon.
The Jacks are 7-7 on the year and 3-0 in the Summit League. SDSU is on a four-game win streak and looks to make it five with the Fighting Hawks Saturday.
Paige Meyer was named the Summit League Player of the Week Monday after a solid first week of conference action. The freshman averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.0 steals for the Jacks in last week's games. She ranks second on the team in scoring with 10.8 points per game.
Myah Selland averages 11.2 PPG to pace the Jacks' offense. She scored a season-high 19 at Kansas City last week and had 12 against the Bison Thursday.
Tori Nelson adds 9.6 points per game, followed by Paiton Burckhard (9.5) and Tylee Irwin (9.1). Kallie Theisen grabs 5.4 rebounds per game while Meyer gives out 4.0 assists, both team highs.
North Dakota is 6-7 overall and 0-2 in the Summit League after a 46-85 loss to South Dakota Thursday night.
Kacie Borowicz puts up 17.2 points per game to go with 5.0 assists, both team highs. Olivia Lane averages 12.5 points and Claire Orth adds 11.7. Lane's 7.8 rebounds per game leads the Fighting Hawks. Orth is the team's steal leader with 2.2 per contest.
KEY STORYLINES
- South Dakota State is 7-7 overall and 3-0 in the Summit League with wins over Kansas City, Oral Roberts and North Dakota State.
- SDSU has won 18 consecutive regular season Summit League games, a streak dating back to the 2019-20 season.
- UND is is 5-6 overall and opened the Summit season at 0-2 with losses to North Dakota State and South Dakota.

- Tori Nelson has scored 9+ points in eight consecutive contests. The sophomore averages 9.6 points per game.
- Myah Selland has scored in every appearance of her career, 94 games, and put up more than 10 points in 69 of those contests.
- Tylee Irwin has played in 135 career games for the Jackrabbits, tied for third all-time. Macy Miller is the program's leader with 144 career games played.
- Tylee Irwin, Myah Selland and Paiton Burckhard have all scored more than 1,000 career points and tallied more than 500 career rebounds for South Dakota State. SDSU is one of just a handful of programs nationally with three or more active players to record 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
- State was picked to finish second in the 2021-22 Summit League Preseason Poll, splitting the first-place votes with South Dakota (20-18). Paiton Burckhard, Tylee Irwin and Myah Selland were named to the Preseason All-Summit League team.
- Myah Selland was tabbed as the Summit League Preseason Player of the Year and was named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year, Cheryl Miller Small Forward Award Naismith and Wooden Award watch lists.
