South Dakota State will play its first game outside of the Mount Rushmore State in 24 days when it takes on Idaho Wednesday.
Douglas Wilson became the 49th member of the Jackrabbits' 1,000-point club in Friday's win over Minnesota Morris. His 10 points gave him 1,005 points in his SDSU career. He scored 1,138 points in two years at Kirkwood Community College, giving him an overall total of 2,143 collegiate points.Â
The Jackrabbits offense has been excellent this season. SDSU is leading the nation in three-point shooting at 45.2 percent/ Furthermore, the Jacks are shooting 51.8 percent overall, fifth best in Division I.
SDSU ranks third nationally in scoring at 91.1 points per game. The Jacks have scored 90 points in five games and have hit the 80-point mark in nine of ten outings.
Noah Freidel ranks 11th nationally in three-pointers per game (3.78) and is 23rd in points per game (20.3).
Sharing the basketball has been a key to the Jackrabbits' success. SDSU's dishing out 18.2 assists per game, the 14th most in Division I. Â The Jacks have recorded 20 assists in four different games this season.
Wilson has always excelled at getting to the free throw line, and this year is no exception. The senior's 57 attempts at the stripe rank 17th in Division I.
Baylor Scheierman has posted four double-doubles on the year, the ninth most in the country. A huge reason why is his knack for corralling rebounds. His 8.3 defensive boards per game are the sixth most in the nation, while his overall average of 8.8 rebounds is the best in the Summit League.
