GONZALES TO JOIN SDSU EQUESTRIAN TEAM

Kelsey Gonzales of Poteet, Texas has signed to join the Jackrabbit equestrian team for the 2021-22 school year. Gonzales arrives to State from Texas Connections Academy at Houston and will compete in horsemanship.Â
A three-time world champion, Gonzales took the top spot in three events at the 2019 American Junior Paint Horse Association World Championships including horsemanship reserve, western pleasure reserve and showmanship reserve.Â
In 2018, she was an American Quarter Horse Association Level I Championship Show finalist in showmanship and finished in the top-10 for western pleasure in both 2018 and 2019.
An avid and skilled golfer, Gonzales made it to the Texas State Golf Championships in 2019. The daughter of Leslie and Sammy Gonzales, she plans om majoring in pre-med.
