LAST TIME OUT
For the second week in a row, Trevor Begeman rewrote the record books and took over the No. 1 spot on SDSU's all-time list. Last Saturday's Dakota Quad saw Begeman steal the record from himself, throwing shot for a distance of 59-7.75, passing his throw of 59-1.50 that made him No. 1 just a week prior.
Ellie Friesen won the women's mile in a mark of 4:52.33, passing her previous best of 4:54.06 to be named the outright owner of the fourth-best time in SDSU history after being previously tied at that spot. Friesen would then go on to take second in the women's 800 with a time of 2:15.31, following right behind Oksana Covey who took first with a 2:13.68.
Daniel Burkhalter picked up silver in the men's mile with a 4:16.08 showing, and Jaymie O'Connor took first in the women's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.77.
In the men's heptathlon, Josh Donahoe recorded a new personal best of 4,319, passing his previous best score of 4,112 that had him at eighth all-time at SDSU. He now moves to sixth on the list. Unattached Jackrabbit Evan Hieber tallied 5,032 points to claim third place in the men's heptathlon. He is currently ranked second all-time at State and is only one of two Jacks to ever pass the 5,000 point mark.
NO. 1 JACKS
Coby Hilton leads the Summit League in both the 60m dash and 200m dash with marks of 6.82 and 21.19, respectively.
Ellie Friesen sits at the top of the conference in the women's 3,000 with a 9:44.97 clocking. Leah Hansen is right behind her with a 9:45.88, good enough for second in the Summit League.
Trevor Begeman broke the school record in the shot put twice this season, originally breaking it at the UND Open with a mark of 59-1.50 and then again a week later at the Dakota Quad with a throw of 59-7.75.Â
While he already owned the school record in pole vault, Trent Francom cleared his previous best mark of 17-05.00 to steal the record from himself, clearing a distance of 17-08.50 at the Jim Emmerich Alumni Invitational.Â
