2/27/2021 8:26:00 PM | Men's Track and Field, Track and Field, Women's Track and Field
Coby Hilton turned in two career-best marks in the 60-meter and 200-meter dash preliminaries. The Summit League leader in both events turned in two first-place finishes with a 60 mark of 6.75 that would give him the title of outright school record holder, breaking up the tie between himself and 2020 Summit League 200 champion Sam Zenner.Â
It wouldn't be the only time Hilton would pass his former teammate.
Â
Hilton clocked a 21.05 in the prelims of the 200-meter dash to earn a spot in tomorrow's finals and set the new Summit League meet record. Hilton's mark was .02 faster than Sam Zenner who clocked a 21.07 during the 2019 event— the last time conference finals were hosted in Brookings.
Also advancing to day two's finals with Hilton are Daniel Clarke (6.87) and Emmanuel Phoulom-Smith (6.92). Representing the Jacks in the women's 60m dash, Rich-Ann Archer ran a 7.53 in 60m dash prelims and takes over as the second-fastest time in SDSU history. Also shining in the 3,000, Leah Hansen took silver with what became a massive drop from her previous best 9:45.88 clocking and is now ranked second behind Rachel King for the top time in program history. Ellie Friesen also ran a PR (9:41.22) to move to fourth all-time and take home a bronze medal.
