JACKS TAKE TO FARGO FOR THE WEEKEND

The South Dakota State track and field program heads to Fargo Friday and Saturday for the Bison Open and Dakota Quad.Â
Friday's Bison Open will feature a slew of Div. II programs from the area as well as the first day of the multi-events competition. On Saturday, SDSU will face the other three Div. I schools from the Dakotas in the Dakota Quad,Â

LAST TIME OUTÂ
Trevor Begeman became the new school record holder in the shot put Saturday, throwing for 59-01.50 and taking fifth place at the UND Open behind the top shot put throwers in the conference and the No. 3 shot thrower in the country in NDSU's Alex Talley.
Begeman, a sophomore from Selby, S.D, broke his previous PR of 58-0.50 set last season that had him at second all-time by 13 inches.Â
Also moving their way up the all-time charts, Rich-Ann Archer recorded a personal best time on three separate occasions Saturday. In the 60m prelims, Archer ran a 7.55 to pass her previous best time of 7.65 and move to third all-time at SDSU. In the finals, she ran a 7.54 to take first and continue to hold the third best time in program history. Finally, Archer took second in the 200m dash with a time of 25.27 and is now ranked ninth all time at SDSU. She was previously 10th with a 25.43 mark.
Cailee Peterson broke the five minute mark in the women's mile, running a 4:58.19 for a third place finish and is now ranked 10th all-time at SDSU.
Tre Manning tied his personal best leap of 23-04.75 to take first in the men's long jump. He's currently 10th all-time at State.
