WOMEN COME UP BIG AGAINST USD, MEN FALL

BROOKINGS— A trio of Jacks led the way for the Jackrabbits, taking home triple wins in State's 158-85 victory over South Dakota.Â
Elisabeth Timmer took first in the 200 free with a 1:55.45, first in the 100 free with 51.95 and swam the lead leg of SDSU's winning 400 yard free relay with a split of 53.22, a relay best. Also picking up three wins, Emily Pincus won the 1000 free in a time of 10:50.32, the 500 with a 5:16.39 and took home the win as the third leg (55.93) of Timmer's relay.
Emma Walz was also a member of that same relay, swimming the second leg with a 53.22 split. She also captured win in the 50 free (24.48) and the 200 back (2:06.88) to be named State's third triple winner on the day.
Alyssa Eckstein captured a second-place finish as a member of the 400 medley relay when she swam a 1:07.08 breast split to bring the Jacks to a finishing time of 4:01.99. She took first in the 200 IM with a mark of 2:10.99 and the 200 breast with a time of 2:22.66.
Kristen Davis took first in the 200 fly with a mark of 2:09.23 and as a member of the Jacks' winning 400 medley relay, swimming the butterfly leg in a time of 57.94. On the 1-meter board, Quincee Simonson scored 255.98 points while Julia Gill finished runner-up on the 3-meter board with 238.80 points.
On the men's side, SDSU would fall short to the Coyotes, 143-100.
Zach Boyd led the Jackrabbits, picking up 18 points with wins in both 1-meter (296.93) and the 3-meter (305.78). Behind Boyd, Cayden Christianson took first in the 200 IM with a 1:56.04 and second in the 200 fly with a mark of 1:56.32. Charles Sieglaff took home three runner-up spots. Sieglaff took second in the 50 free with a 21.38, the 100 free with a 47.83 and as the second leg on the second place 400 free relay where he turned n a 49.16 split. Marcus Benson finished first in the 200 back with a time of 1:57.72. Alex Kraft grabbed two silver medal victories with a 200 free mark of 1:46.15 and as the opening leg of SDSU's runner-up 400 free relay.

The Jackrabbits will head to Sioux Falls for the Coyote Invitational March 26 for a final tune-up before Summit League Championships in April.
