South Dakota State jumping seat coach
Marielle Golden announced the signing of Hannah Steele to the Jackrabbit equestrian program Tuesday.
Steele comes to SDSU from Woodstock, G.A. where she attends Sequoyah High School. Steele was named the 2019 Georgia Hunter Jumper Association (GHJA) Equitation Challenge winner. In 2020 she competed in the Maclay Finals, the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Medal Finals, Jumping Seat Finals and was a Gladstone Cup qualifier.
She was also the high point rider on the flat in Region 11 and the Zone 4 high point rider for 2020-21.
In the 2020-21 season, she went a perfect five of five across flat classes in Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) and went 3/5 over fences.
Steele plans to major in business economics.
The Jackrabbits travel to Martin, Tenn. for ECAC championships this weekend.Â
