South Dakota State volleyball returns home to Frost Arena this week to take on Kansas City and Oral Roberts. The Jacks host the Roos Thursday night as they celebrate faculty appreciation and then the Golden Eagles Saturday in their breast cancer awareness match.
The Jackrabbits (10-8, 4-2 Summit) are coming off a 2-0 road trip that included wins over Western Illinois and St. Thomas. SDSU swept WIU Thursday night and won 3-1 over UST Saturday. Kansas City enters the week 2-5 in the Summit League while Oral Roberts is 3-4.
KEY STORYLINES
- SDSU enters the week at 10-8 overall and 4-2 in the Summit League after a 2-0 road trip to Western Illinois and St. Thomas.
- Crystal Burk led the Jackrabbit attack last with 11 kills against WIU and then 20 against UST. She has paced SDSU's offense in all 18 matches this year.
- Crystal Burk ranks eighth in the nation in total kills (312), eighth in total points (345) and 13th in total attacks (832).
- Raegen Reilly ranks 12th in the nation and first in the Summit in total assists this season (726). She is only 117 assists shy of ranking fifth in program history in single-season assists.
- Crystal Burk averages 4.08 kills and 3.64 digs per set in Summit action, ranking third and eighth in the league, respectively. Â
- Raegen Reilly dishes 9.84 assists per set in Summit matches, ranking third in the conference.
- The Jackrabbits lead the Summit League with 47 total aces and 1.88 aces per set in conference matches. Elyse Winter's 11 aces in Summit contests ranks third.
- Crystal Burk and Jadyn Makovicka average a team-high 3.64 digs per set in conference play.
- Masa Scheierman is second on the team in kills per set with 2.55 on average in Summit League games.
- Sydney Andrews and Ella Thompson lead SDSU's blocking efforts with .82 and .76 per set, respectively, in Summit action.
- Crystal Burk ranks third on SDSU's career attacks chart with 4,188 and eighth on the kills chart with 1,381.
- Crystal Burk is one of only six Jackrabbits in program history to record more than 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career.
