LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Following the second day of the Golf Iconic Classic the South Dakota State women's team is in a tie for 12th place at the NMSU Golf Course.
The Jackrabbits fired a 303 (+16) Tuesday, one shot better than the first round, to maintain their 12th place position. The squad has a 607 (+31) total score with 18 holes left to play.
Alex Kandolin leads the Jacks. She shot a 74 (+2) Tuesday and sits tied for 35th place with a 149 (+5) scorecard. She is up five spots from her standing after Monday's round.
McKenzie Mages carded a 76 (+3) in the second round, matching her Monday score, and is tied for 47th place (152, +8).
Piper Stubbs and
Tatum Depuydt are in a five-way tie for 54th place. They each have a 154 (+10) total. Stubbs shot a 76 (+4) Tuesday while Depuydt shot a 79 (+7).
Shakira-Ann Kuys rounds out the SDSU lineup in a tie for 66th place. She improved by four strokes in the second round, carding a 77 (+5), and brought her total to 158 (+14).
Host New Mexico State leads the team standings at 2-under-par after firing an 8-under on the second 18 holes. Jasmine Leovao is the individual leader with a 137 (-7), one stroke over Oral Roberts' Sarah Bell.
The final round of the Golf Iconic Classic will tee off at 9:30 a.m. CT Wednesday morning.
