South Dakota State makes the trip to Western Illinois and St. Thomas this week for a pair of Summit League matches.
The Jackrabbits (8-8, 2-2 Summit) enter the weekend following a five-set loss to in-state rival South Dakota Saturday night. Western Illinois and St. Thomas are both 0-5 in Summit League play. The Leathernecks most recently fell 3-0 to Denver while the Tommies were swept by Omaha.
KEY STORYLINES
- SDSU pushed South Dakota, the defending Summit League tournament champion, to five sets Saturday before falling 3-2 to the Coyotes.
- Crystal Burk notched a pair of double-doubles last week with 16 kills and 17 digs at North Dakota, then 18 kills and 15 digs against South Dakota. She has tallied six straight double-doubles and 13 this year.
- Crystal Burk ranks seventh in the nation in total kills (281), ninth in total points (311.0) and ninth in total attacks (748).
- Raegen Reilly ranks 17th in the nation in total assists this season (643).
- Crystal Burk averages 3.94 kills per set in Summit League action, which is third in the conference, and 3.28 digs per set, which ranks 11th.
- Raegen Reilly's 9.06 assists per set in Summit matches is fifth in the League.
- SDSU averages 2.06 blocks per set in conference games, ranking fifth on the Summit League charts.
- Sydney Andrews and Ella Thompson both average .94 blocks per set in conference matches.
- Masa Scheierman recently moved into the SDSU starting lineup and ranks second on the team in kills per set with 2.33.
- The Jackrabbits lead the Summit League with 36 service aces over the last four matches. Elyse Winter has eight aces in conference play.
- Crystal Burk ranks third on SDSU's career attacks chart with 4,104 and eighth on the kills chart with 1,350.
- Crystal Burk is one of only six Jackrabbits in program history to record more than 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career.
