South Dakota State (1-1) plays its third straight regular season game at home Monday night when it hosts Mississippi State (2-0) in Frost. Both teams are coming off a Friday night win. The Jacks beat Lehigh 91-73 while the Bulldogs beat North Alabama 70-47 at home in Starkville.

Through two games, Myah Selland averages 20 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals, all team highs, and ranks second in rebounding with 5.0 per contest. She led the Jacks in scoring in both games (22 against Creighton, 18 against Lehigh). Four more Jacks average double-digit scoring: Ellie Colbeck (11 PPG), Tori Nelson (11 PPG), Kallie Theisen (10.5 PPG) and Brooklyn Meyer (10 PPG).

Key Storylines

South Dakota State (1-1) meets Mississippi State (2-0) for the second time in history Monday night at Frost. SDSU is coming off a 91-73 win over Lehigh while the Bulldogs most recently beat North Alabama 70-47 in Starkville.
Five Jackrabbits are averaging double figures: Myah Selland (20 PPG), Tori Nelson (11 PPG), Ellie Colbeck (11 PPG), Kallie Theisen (10.5 PPG) and Brooklyn Meyer (10 PPG).
Myah Selland had 18 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block against Lehigh Friday. All marks either led the team or tied the team high.
Brooklyn Meyer is 9-for-11 from the field through the first two games. Nine made field goals is the second highest total for SDSU so far this year, after Selland's 13.
Kallie Theisen is averaging 7.0 rebounds per game, followed by Myah Selland and Paiton Burckhard with 5.0 per game each.
South Dakota State returns four starters and six of its top seven scorers from a season ago. That group is highlighted by the the Summit's Preseason Player of the Year Myah Selland.
The Jacks were ranked No. 23 in the AP preseason poll and No. 24 in the WBCA/USA Today preseason poll. This is SDSU's first ever appearance in either preseason poll and first national ranking since being No. 25 in the final AP poll of 2020-21.
The Jackrabbits added five newcomers to the roster, including Rapid City native Dru Gylten. Gylten led the Pac-12 in assists as a senior at Utah last season and is using her final season of eligibility closer to home at SDSU.
