South Dakota State volleyball makes its last road trip of the regular season this week. The Jackrabbits take on Oral Roberts Thursday night and Kansas City Saturday. SDSU fell 3-1 to both teams in mid-October at Frost Arena.
SDSU sits sixth in the Summit League standings at 7-7, following by Kansas City at 5-9 and Oral Roberts at 4-10. As the top-six finishers make the postseason tournament, this is a crucial week for all three teams.
The Jackrabbits are coming off a 3-0 week with wins over NDSU, St. Thomas and Western Illinois. Kansas City went 1-1 last week with a loss to Omaha (3-1) and win over Denver (3-1). Oral Roberts. Oral Roberts also played Omaha and Denver and was swept in both contests.
KEY STORYLINES
- South Dakota State volleyball enters the final two weeks of the regular season at 13-13 overall and 7-7 in the Summit League following a 3-0 showing last week.
- The Jacks currently sit sixth in the conference standings and need to finish sixth or better to make the conference tournament.
- Crystal Burk, the reigning Summit League Offensive Peak Performer of the Week, averaged 5.5 kills and 6.1 points per set over last week's matches. She became the sixth Jackrabbit in program history to reach 1,500 career kills in the match against St. Thomas.
- Burk ranks seventh in the country this season in total attacks (1,240) and eighth in total kills (458) and total points (511.5). She is 17th in the nation in kills per set (4.40) and 15th in attacks per set (11.92).
- Raegen Reily has dished 1,018 total assists this season, which ranks 24th in the country. That mark is third in a single season in program history in the 25-point rally scoring era.
- Crystal Burk plays all six rotations for the Jacks and averages 4.40 kills and 3.28 digs per set this year, which rank first and second on the team, respectively.
- Raegen Reilly dishes 9.96 assists per set in Summit matches, which ranks third in the league.
- Libero Jadyn Makovicka notches 3.58 digs per set overall and 4.15 in Summit games.
- Elyse Winter (27), Crystal Burk (27) and Raegen Reilly (24) lead the Jackrabbits in total service aces. SDSU has 161 aces as a team this season.
- Sydney Andrews averages a team-best 1.04 blocks per set.
