South Dakota State will meet No. 2 South Dakota Tuesday afternoon in the final round of the Summit League Tournament.
It will be the third meeting of the season for the teams with each side winning its home game during the regular season. The Jackrabbits rolled past No. 8 Denver and No. 4 Oral Roberts to reach the title game while South Dakota has beat Western Illinois and Kansas City.
The Jackrabbits were paced by 16 points apiece from Paiton Burckhard and Myah Selland in Monday's semifinal matchup with the Golden Eagles. An 18-0 that spanned from the second quarter into the third was the turning point for the Jacks, who went on to win 72-53.
South Dakota held off Kansas City in its semifinal game to win 81-67. Chloe Lamb put up a career-best 33 points in 34 minutes on the floor to lead the Coyotes past the Roos. Hannah Sjerven added 24 points and Liv Korngable chipped in 10.
The Jackrabbits are 23-8 on the year - the 11th straight 20+ win season for Coach Aaron Johnston and South Dakota State. The team finished the conference season with a share of the regular season title at 17-1.
Overall, State's balanced offense is led by Myah Selland, who scores 14.1 points per game. She is joined in double figures by Tori Nelson (10.7 PPG), Paiton Burckhard (10.7 PPG) and Paige Meyer (10.4). Selland also contributes 4.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists on average. Selland has averaged 18.1 points in the back half of the Summit League season (the last 11 games) with six 20+ point games in that stretch.
Meyer is the Jackrabbits' assists (4.1 APG) and steals (1.2 SPG) leader. She ranks second in the Summit League in field goal percentage and assists and and third in assists/turnover ratio. Burckhard paces the Jackrabbits on the glass, tallying 5.7 rebounds per contest, and adds 2.2 assists per game. Kallie Theisen blocks 1.2 shots a night.
