WACO, Texas – Sixteen South Dakota State University equestrian student-athletes were recognized Friday for their performance both in the arena and in the classroom on a series of all-academic teams sponsored by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association.

The following five Jackrabbits were honored on the NCEA All-Academic First Team (repeat honorees denoted by *):
First-team honorees must have competed in at least 70 percent of their team's meets and must have compiled a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher while maintaining full-time enrollment over the past two semesters (spring-fall 2021).

Second-team honors were awarded to the following three Jackrabbit riders:
*Kodi O'Boyle, Sr., Saint Louis, Michigan (Western).
Second-team honorees must have competed in at least 60 percent of their team's meets and must have compiled a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher while maintaining full-time enrollment over the previous two semesters.

Three more South Dakota State equestrian riders received honorable mention recognition:
Criteria for honorable mention selections include competing in at least 50 percent of the team's meets and posting a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 while maintaining full-time enrollment over the past two semesters.

Rounding out the academic awards for SDSU were five NCEA Academic Honor Roll selections:
Academic Honor Roll selections must have compiled a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA as a squad member and have been enrolled as a full-time student over the past two semesters, but waives the competition requirement.
