The South Dakota State women's golf team is set to compete in the Summit League Championship Sunday through Tuesday at the Sand Creek Station Golf Club in Newton, Kansas.
The Jackrabbits enter the tournament with the third-best scoring average of the Summit League teams, averaging 298.4 shots per round as a squad.
Lani Potter leads the Jacks with a 74.8 stroke average this season, which ranks sixth among the league's golfers.
Mia Seeman ranks 10th in the Summit with a 75.0 average and
Shakira-Ann Kuys ranks 16th while averaging 75.5 shots. The trio was named to the All-Summit League Second Team last week.
The All-Summit honorees will be joined on the course by
Hester Sicking (76.2) and
Piper Stubbs (76.5)
The Jackrabbits are coming off a first-place finish at the Stampede at the Creek two weeks ago in Omaha, the team's second tournament win of the season. Seeman won the tournament's individual crown to bring home the first medalist honors of her career.
SDSU was runner-up at the Summit League Championship last season. Alum
Teresa Toscano won the individual title. All five Jackrabbits, including Seeman, Potter and Sicking, finished inside the top-20.
