South Dakota State softball is set to play in its second NCAA Tournament this weekend in Orlando, Florida.

The Jackrabbits (40-11) will take on Michigan in the opening game of the Orlando Regional Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. CT. The teams are joined by host UCF and Villanova on the other side of the double-elimination bracket.

KEY STORYLINES

South Dakota State overcame a number of obstacles, including inclement weather and losing home field advantage, to win its second straight Summit League championship Sunday.
The Jackrabbits are 6-4 against other NCAA Tournament teams this season, including a notable 2-1 against Big 10 Champion Nebraska.
SDSU has reached the 40-win mark for the second straight season and third time in program history.
Cylie Halvorson hit the team's 74th home run of the year during last weekend's tournament, setting a new program record for single-season homers.
South Dakota State ended the Summit League regular season at 18-2 to win its second straight league title.
The Jacks enter the tournament having won 32 of their last 36 games.
The Jackrabbits landed eight All-Summit League honorees, including taking four of the five individual awards.
Rozelyn Carrillo was named the Summit League Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, Grace Glanzer is the Pitcher of the Year and Krista Wood is the Coach of the Year.
Rozelyn Carrillo batted .477 during the Summit League season and is batting .388 overall. Her conference batting average, hits (31) and RBIs (25) were all league bests.
Rozelyn Carrillo set a new program record this season with a 24-game hit streak, which ended in the opening round of the Summit League tournament. Defensively, Carrillo was one of 11 players to record a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in Summit League games.
Grace Glanzer posted a league-best 0.63 ERA in conference contests while tossing seven complete games and collecting four shutouts. She was the only pitcher without a loss in the Summit season.
Tori Kniesche is the other half of SDSU's 1-2 pitching punch. The sophomore has an ERA of 1.42 on the year and was named MVP of the All-Summit League Tournament Team.
The full SDSU pitching staff has held its opponents to a .193 batting average while posting a 1.81 ERA. Aces Grace Glanzer and Tori Kniesche combine to tally a .180 opponent batting average and 1.60 ERA.
Four Jackrabbits are hitting above .310 overall - Rozelyn Carrillo (.388), Allison Yoder (.337), Peyton Daugherty (.331) and Cylie Halvorson (.311).
