Grand Canyon opened its season with a game that started on Thursday, but also was completed due to weather on Friday, as the Antelopes defeated Hawaii 3-1 in Phoenix at GCU Stadium. The Lopes went 16-4-2 a season ago with their 2021 slate ending in an NCAA Tournament defeat at USC.Â
Â
Northern Arizona began its season on Thursday by hosting Utah State as the two battled to a 2-2 tie at Lumberjack Stadium. The Lumberjacks will host Utah Tech in Flagstaff Sunday prior to the matchup against the Jackrabbits. NAU went 8-11 last season.Â
