South Dakota State equestrian will host six competitions during the upcoming 2022-23 season, culminating with the ECAC Championship in the spring.
Â
The Jackrabbits, who posted a 4-8 record in head-to-head competitions a year ago, are slated to open the regular season Oct. 15 versus Minnesota Crookston. That will be preceded by the team's Blue and Yellow Scrimmage on Oct. 1.
Â
SDSU's remaining matchups in the fall consist of a trip to Davis, California, for competitions against UC Davis (Oct. 28) and Georgia (Oct. 29), along with traveling to UT Martin for an ECAC matchup on Nov. 18.
Â
The Jackrabbits are scheduled to return to competition in late January with three straight days of competition in Texas, traveling to nonconference opponents TCU (Jan. 26), Texas A&M (Jan. 27) and Baylor (Jan. 28).
Â
To close out the regular season, SDSU is slated to host four consecutive head-to-head competitions against ECAC opponents in February. The first of two weekend homestands will see the Jackrabbits hosting Delaware State (Feb. 10) and Minnesota Crookston (Feb. 11), followed by matchups two weeks later against UT Martin (Feb. 24) and UC Davis (Feb. 25).
Â
The six-team ECAC Championship is set for March 23-25 at DeHaan Equestrian Center. Defending conference champion SMU is the lone ECAC opponent not on the Jackrabbits' regular season schedule.
