SIOUX FALLS, SD – Following strong performances at the Arturo Barrios Invitational, South Dakota State's Leah (Hansen) Hisken and Carson Noecker have been selected as the TicketSmarter Summit League Cross Country Peak Performers of the Week.
Hisken clocked a 20:17.6 for 23rd place in the women's 6k, leading the Jackrabbit women to a 17th place team finish in an elite field of competition.
Noecker took 5th place out of 365 athletes in the men's 8k after running a huge personal best time of 23:15.7. He shaved over a minute off his previous best time to lead the men to fifth place in the team standings.
This is Hisken's eighth career weekly honor—her third of the season—and Noecker's fourth career accolade.
SDSU will host the Summit League Cross Country Championships on Oct. 28 at the Edgebrook Golf Course. Action is set to begin at 11 a.m.
