JACKRABBIT TRIO CLAIMS ALL-REGION HONORS

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The 2023 Summit League champion South Dakota State soccer team had three of its student-athletes honored on Tuesday by the United Soccer Coaches organization to its Women's All-West Region Team. Kaycee Manding and Avery Murdzek were each selected to the All-West Region First Team, while Reagan Anderson was picked to the Third Team.

Manding and Murdzek were each 2023 All-Summit League First Team selections, and Anderson was an honorable mention by The Summit League, following the regular season.

Murdzek was The Summit League Midfielder of the Year as she led South Dakota State in scoring. The junior midfielder recorded 21 points, which tied for the 13th most in program history in a single season, while her eight goals were tied for 12th most. Murdzek currently sits 10th all-time in career points with 47 and 11th in goals with 17.

Manding led the team in minutes played (1,667) as she helped spearhead a back row that led the conference in goals-against average prior to the NCAA Tournament. Manding played and started in all 20 matches for the Jackrabbits this season. She scored six points behind a goal and four assists. Manding has played in 77 matches in Yellow and Blue and made 48 starts.

Anderson was a standout as a defensive midfielder for South Dakota State during her tenure in Brookings. She served as a starter in four of five seasons and as a fifth-year senior in 2023, Anderson played a career-high 1,593 minutes on the pitch. She finished her career third on SDSU's all-time games played list with 91 and tied for 10th in matches started at 71.

SDSU previously had two All-West Region First Team selections ever prior to the honors bestowed upon Manding and Murdzek on Tuesday. Manding was previously a Second Team All-West Region in 2022. Anderson and Murdzek were both Summit League All-Tournament Team choices for their roles in the Jackrabbits' 2023 conference title.

All-Region and All-America teams are selected through voting by member coaches in their respective divisions.
