South Dakota State opens the 2023-24 season with Arkansas State Monday night at Frost Arena. This is the fourth consecutive season the Jackrabbits have played their season opener at home in Frost.
This is the third all-time meeting between these teams and the first since the 2007-08 season.
SDSU ended the 2022-23 season in the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a 12-point loss to No. 1 Virginia Tech, who went on to the Final Four. The Jacks were 29-6 overall. Arkansas State went 13-19 a year ago and ended its season in the third round of the Sun Belt postseason tournament.

- South Dakota State returns 10 players from last season's March Madness team and adds two newcomers in Hilary Behrens and Jenna Hopp.

The 2019-20 Summit League Freshman of the Year has started every game for SDSU over the last two seasons and has accumulated the most minutes played of any Jackrabbit in that stretch. She scored 7.9 points and grabbed 3.4 rebounds per contest in 2022-23 and blocked 33 total shots.

- Three opponents on SDSU's schedule are ranked in the preseason AP and/or USA Today polls - No. 6/4 South Carolina and No. 22/23 Creighton and No. 24/RV Washington State. Gonzaga is receiving votes in both polls.
