South Dakota State and Dordt meet for the first time Tuesday evening at Frost Arena.
The Jackrabbits are 5-3 on the season and most recently beat Northern Iowa 78-59 in Cedar Falls Saturday afternoon.
Dordt is the No. 2 team in the NAIA this week and enters the contest with a 12-0 record. The Defenders have won three games over ranked opponents this season. Most recently, Dordt picked up an 86-51 home win over Hastings.
KEY STORYLINES
- Paige Meyer is the reigning Summit League TicketSmarter Peak Performer of the Week after averaging 23.0 points and 3.5 assists per contest over the last two games.
- On the season, Paige Meyer averages 17.6 points, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals while shooting .566 from the floor, all team highs. She has tallied at least 10 points and three rebounds in her five appearances this season.
- Brooklyn Meyer is just behind Paige Meyer with 17.0 points per game. She leads the team and the Summit League in rebounding (9.8 RPG) and blocks (2.1 BPG)
- Tori Nelson surpassed 1,200 career points last week and ranks 33rd all-time in SDSU history. Nelson has also recorded at least one block in every game this season and ranks fourth all-time in that category (122).
- Tori Nelson's 131 career games played ranks eighth in program history and 12th among all active NCAA players.
- Madison Mathiowetz is averaging 13.0 points at a 53 percent clip over the last three games. She scored 8.6 points per game overall.
- As a team, SDSU ranks ninth in the country in 3-point field goal percentage defense, limiting opponents to just 22 percent from deep.
- The Jackrabbit defense holds its opponents to 56.5 points per game, 34.0 percent field goal shooting and 22 percent 3-point shooting, all of which lead the Summit League.
- Following Tuesday's home game against Dordt, the Jackrabbits next four games will be on the road. The Jackrabbits will not be back at Frost until January 6 against Montana State.
