South Dakota State travels south for a non-conference matchup on Saturday when the Jackrabbits take on Wichita State. The Jacks and Shockers are set to play off campus in downtown Wichita at INTRUST Bank Arena with tipoff set for 6 p.m.Â
Â
SDSU had a three-game win streak halted on Tuesday at home in an 82-73 defeat to Kent State. The Golden Flashes got out to a 20-point lead in the first half, thanks to a 50% clip shooting from the field and 3-point range, and went into halftime with a 41-27 advantage. The Jackrabbits cut into the deficit and had the margin to a single possession on multiple occasions, but Kent State held off the SDSU comeback bid. Kent State improved to 6-3 overall while South Dakota State dropped to 4-5.
Â
The Jackrabbits were led in scoring in the contest by
Charlie Easley and
William Kyle III. Easley had 17 points thanks to going 5-for-10 from deep. He registered his sixth multiple steal game of the year with four, while his five assists marked his second straight contest leading SDSU in the category. Kyle III had 16 points by going 7-for-7 from the floor. The sophomore forward has been stellar the last three times out. He's went 20-24 (83.3%) shooting and scored 43 points across 65 minutes played.
Â
Preseason all-conference honorees in
