Chiara Bassi and
Lindsey Culver. Starting pitcher

Game 2 (vs. Abilene Christian)

Â
SDSU was clutching to a 5-2 advantage in the top of the fifth when Abilene Christian's Buba Rote hit a three-run home run to tie the score off of Jackrabbit starter
Tori Kniesche.Â
Â
The Jacks responded in the bottom of the inning.
Allison Yoder singled, then
Tori Tollefson and
Lindsey Culver earned walks to load the bases with one out. Jozelyn Carrillo came to bat and crushed a grand slam over the left-field fence to put SDSU ahead 9-5. The Jackrabbits weren't done as Jarecki went back-to-back with a solo home run to put the Jacks up 10-5 heading to the sixth inning.Â
Â
SDSU needed every run the fifth produced. The Wildcats scored two runs on two hits in the sixth, then in the seventh hit a pair of solo home runs to make it a 10-9 margin. Williams came in for relief of Lasey, who went 1 2/3 innings for SDSU, to get the final out of the game for the Jacks.Â
