Matt Dentlinger earned his fourth-career honor to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Dentlinger is currently pursuing his graduate degree in electrical engineering and holds a 4.0 grade-point average. He previously obtained his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with a 3.99 GPA.
Dentlinger has started in all 28 games for the Jackrabbits this season. The Arcadia, Iowa, native is averaging 12 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Dentlinger is shooting 57.6% from the field and a career-high 85.5% at the free throw line. His numbers are better in Summit League play as Dentlinger averages 14.4 points and 5.9 rebounds along with a 61.1% clip from the floor. He has scored double digits in 13 of his last 15 games played.
He is now on the national ballot for Academic All-America honors. He earned a Third Team All-America selection in 2021 and was a Second Team pick in 2022.
South Dakota State is scheduled to play in two games to close out its regular season. The Jackrabbits are slated to host Kansas City Thursday and Oral Roberts Saturday.
