South Dakota State continues non-conference play on the road this week as the Jackrabbits travel west for a pair of matches against opponents located in the Rocky Mountain region. SDSU takes on Utah State in Logan on Friday at 6 p.m. CT, followed by a 2 p.m. CT Sunday matchup at Idaho State in Pocatello.

The Jackrabbits take on the Aggies and Bengals this weekend, two teams they have some recent history against. SDSU is 1-2 all-time against Utah State. The Jacks topped the Aggies 1-0 in Brookings in their last meeting in 2019. Utah State beat SDSU in a double-overtime 1-0 affair in Logan in 2017.

The Jacks are 3-0 all-time over the Bengals. SDSU beat Idaho State in 2021 in Hawaii by a 6-1 score. Otherwise, SDSU won a pair of home-and-home meetings between the two sides by 2-0 scores in 2018 and 2019.

Utah State enters Friday's match having played a challenging schedule so far and registering a 1-3 overall record. The Aggies began the season with a 5-1 win over Weber State. They dropped a 2-0 game to No. 21 Saint Louis and 1-0 match to Utah. The Aggies were defeated 3-0 at Texas Tech their last time out.Â

Idaho State is 0-4 this season and faces South Dakota on Friday before taking on SDSU. The Bengals have dropped multiple-goal games to UC Davis, Wake Forest and Utah Valley, while they fell at Saint Mary's 2-1 on Aug. 20.

The Jackrabbits remain undefeated with back-to-back 2-1 victories this past week. SDSU completed both wins over Drake and Iowa State in different fashion. SDSU had a one-goal lead over Drake for nearly an entire half, but broke through a 1-1 tied score on a 78th minute goal by Avery Murdzek for a victory on Aug. 24. SDSU hosted Iowa State and trailed 1-0 at halftime and rallied in the second half. Murdzek scored in the 71st minute, then Maya Hansen found the back of the net in the 87th minute to close out the victory.
