BOISE, Idaho - South Dakota State volleyball was swept by Boise State Saturday night at Bronco Gym in the team's second match of the Boise State Classic (17-25, 23-25, 17-25).
The Jackrabbits fall to 2-9 on the season while Boise State moves to 3-6.
Sylvie Zgonc led the Jackrabbit offense for the fourth time in the last five matches. The freshman put down 12 kills at a .370 clip and tallied three digs and an ace.
Katie Van Egdom added eight kills and five digs while
Sydni Schetnan had seven kills.
Raegen Reilly and
Rylee Martin teamed up to hand out 16 and 13 assists, respectively. Reilly also contributed seven digs and an ace. Martin had five digs.
On the defensive end,
Stella Winterfeld posted 16 digs to lead the team.
Masa Scheierman and
McKenna Moehrle took part in two blocks each.
Boise State had the notable advantage in kills (48-34), hitting percentage (.304) and blocks (6-3). The home team was paced by 21 kills from Paige Bartsch. Noelani Helm dished 35 assists and Breanna Mitchell recorded 19 digs. The Broncos never trailed in the opening and closing sets, and trailed for only one point in set two.
