South Dakota State wraps its non-conference slate with three matches at the Jackrabbit Invitational this weekend at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls. At 8-0 on the year, SDSU is off to its best start since 2002 (and in the Jacks' Divison I era).

KEY STORYLINES

The Jackrabbits are one of 14 remaining unbeaten teams in the country as of Wednesday morning and the lone Summit League team without a loss.
As a team, SDSU ranks 11th in the country in blocks per set (2.97). Middles Sydni Schetnan (1.38) and Madison Burr (1.34) rank second and third, respectively, in the Summit League in blocks per set.
Rightsides Alyssa Groves (eighth) and Annalee Ventling-Brown (ninth) are also top-10 in the league in blocks per set.
Sydni Schetnan leads the Jackrabbits and the Summit League with a .400 hitting percentage.
SDSU's offense is led by Sylvie Zgonc's 4.55 kills per set over eight matches, which is first in the Summit League and 13th in the country.
Sylvie Zgonc's .306 hitting percentage ranks fourth in the conference and first among the league's outside hitters.
The Jackrabbits lead the Summit in team hitting percentage (.261), kills (13.52 per set), aces (1.97) and blocks (2.97).
Rylee Martin has 14 services aces on the season and averages .48 per set, which ranks first in the Summit League. Sylvie Zgonc is fourth in the same category (12 aces, .41 per set).
Sylvie Zgonc is back for her sophomore season after earning Summit League Freshman of the Year and Summit League First Team honors a year ago.
Sylvie Zgonc and Sydni Schetnan were named Preseason Players to Watch by the Summit League.
SDSU's roster features a blend of seven returners and eight newcomers. The team comes with plenty of experience as there are eight players listed as a junior, senior or graduate student.
SDSU will finally return to Brookings to play the first-ever event at the Jacks' newly-renovated First Bank & Trust Arena October 3.
