BROOKINGS, S.D. - The South Dakota State men's golf team has added Caleb Kern to its 2025 recruiting class.
"We couldn't be more excited about Caleb joining us next fall," said head coach
Parker Edens. "Caleb is the best player in the 2025 class from Wisconsin. He has a high-level work ethic and athletic background."
Kern, a high school state champion in Wisconsin, is set to graduate this spring and will join the Jackrabbits for the 2025-26 season. Kern won his individual state title as a junior in 2024 with a 3-over scorecard, leading Edgerton High School to a runner-up team finish.
Kern is a three-time all-conference selection and three-time state qualifier in his high school career. He holds a 71.8 stroke average over his first three seasons. In 2024, Kern was named the Rock Valley Conference Player of the Year and earned first-team all-state honors.
"Jackrabbit fans should be excited to meet the Wisconsin High School State Champion!" Edens continued. "Caleb's ceiling is extremely high as a Jackrabbit!"
In addition to his success on the course, Kern is also a four-year academic honoree.
Kern is the son of Brent and Michelle Kern. He plans to major in business economics at South Dakota State.
