SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Summit League announced its 2025-26 preseason poll and All-Summit League preseason teams on Tuesday, Oct. 7, prior to its Basketball Media Day at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. 
 
South Dakota State was selected to finish third by the conference's coaches and media in the preseason poll. The Jacks received five first-place votes and 450 points. Picked ahead of SDSU were St. Thomas with 501 points (17 first-place votes) and Omaha with 495 points (13 first-place votes). 
 
Following the Jackrabbits in order were North Dakota State (358), South Dakota (342, 1), Kansas City (187), Denver (169), North Dakota (168) and Oral Roberts (165). 
 
Junior 
Kalen Garry was chosen for the All-Summit League Preseason First Team. Garry was an honorable mention for 2024-25 season All-Summit League accolades. During conference play, the then sophomore averaged 13.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game across 15 appearances. 
 
South Dakota State makes its exhibition debut on Wednesday, Oct. 29, when the Jackrabbits host Mayville State. The Jacks begin their 2025-26 season on Nov. 3 when they face Merrimack in the Sanford Pentagon as a part of the Field of 68 Opening Day Marathon.
