South Dakota State is set to take on Weber State and Northern Arizona this week in the third edition of the Big Sky-Summit League Challenge. The Jackrabbits are 4-0 in the Challenge over the last two seasons.
South Dakota State enters the week 6-2 on the year and went 1-2 at the Cancun Challenge last week. The Jackrabbits ended the trip with an 82-70 win over Kansas State.
Weber State comes to Brookings with a 2-5 record that includes losses to BYU and Utah. Three Wildcats are averaging more than 10 points per game, paced by 15.0 points per contest from Antoniette Emma-Nnopu.
Northern Arizona is 1-7 overall with its only win coming over Embry-Riddle. The Lumbjerjacks lost to Northern Iowa and Creighton, both SDSU opponents this season, at the UNLV Thanksgiving Turkey TipOff last week.

- Madison Mathiowetz averaged 12.3 points per game in Cancun last week and is second in the team in scoring with 11.9 points per game overall. She scored a season-high 19 points against Columbia and is 52% from the 3-point line this season.
- As a team, SDSU ranks sixth in the nation in fouls per game, committing only 12.6 per contest. The Jacks are 17th in defensive rebounds per game (30.8).
- Brooklyn Meyer was named to the preseason watch lists for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award and the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Award. She is also the Summit League's preseason player of the year.
