MESA, Ariz. - The South Dakota State men's golf team finished in fourth place at the Summit League Championship Tuesday at Longbow Golf Club.
Jackrabbit junior
Tyler Seeling finished his 54 holes in a three-way tie for first place. He birdied on the 18th hole to force a playoff with Oral Roberts' Kevin An and Denver's Willis Panzarello. That trio finished regulation play with totals of 206 (-7). The 206 (-7) is the best three-day Summit League Championship score by a Jackrabbit in program history.
An made par on the first playoff hole to claim Championship MVP honors.
SDSU's
Drew Teeter finished in a tie for sixth place with a 3-under scorecard. He was even par for this final lap, the best round of the Jackrabbits on day three. Teeter's 16 birdies over the three rounds led the 55-player field.
Bryson Mercier finished in a tie for 14th place. He was +1 for the tournament. Senior
Ty Kretz finished in a tie for 29th place (+6) and
Jake Olson tied for 42nd overall (+12).
SDSU held a five-shot lead over the field with nine holes remaining, but the Jacks struggled after the final turn while Oral Roberts, North Dakota State and South Dakota all surged over the last day.
Paced by An, Oral Roberts won the team title for the first time since 2010.
