BROOKINGS, S.D. — South Dakota State's Hunter Wallster was selected to College Sports Communicator's (CSC) Academic All-America Second Team as announced by the CSC Wednesday afternoon.
The honor recognizes student-athletes for outstanding performances in both the classroom and competition. This marks the second time Wallster has been named to the Academic All-America Second Team, as the Canadian clinched a spot on second team last year.
Wallster takes this honor following an outstanding year of competition, as he recorded two conference titles between the outdoor and indoor seasons. Wallster first won the weight throw during the Summit League Indoor Championships with a personal record mark of 68-00.50 (20.74m) before taking the hammer throw title with a throw of 200-08.00 (61.17m) at the Outdoor Conference Championships.
