The South Dakota State equestrian team heads east this weekend for a competition against Delaware State. Action is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. ET at the Dovington Training Center in Dover, Del.
The Jackrabbits enter the matchup with a 2-1 overall record with their victories coming against Baylor and Minnesota Crookston. SDSU's most recent outing saw the Jacks earn a tight 11-9 win against the Golden Eagles in Brookings on Oct. 10.
Delaware State is 2-2 in head-to-head competition this year with the Hornets claiming wins against Minnesota Crookston (15-4) and UT Martin (10-6).
SDSU picked up 11-8 and 9-6 victories in both meetings against Delaware State a season ago. The first win came in a February meeting versus the Hornets in Brookings, while the two sides squared off in Blythewood, S.C., to close the 2025-26 regular season this past March.
Friday will mark the first competition of the season between the two teams. They are scheduled to meet again this January in the DeHaan Equestrian Center in Brookings.
