BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The South Dakota State men's golf team posted a 7-under team tally for the first round of the Jackrabbit Invitational Monday and is -10 altogether through 36 holes. The Jackrabbits have three players in the top-10 on the individual leaderboard going into the final round.
Tyler Seeling is pacing the Jacks with a -5 scorecard through 36 holes. He tallied eight birdies on the day and is in a tie for third. Seeling and Summit League opponent Mason Haley (Kansas City) are four shots off the top of the leaderboard, where Seamus Bogan of Morehead State leads the field.
Ty Adkins ended the day with a -3 two-round scorecard and is tied for fifth place overall. He also tied Seeling with eight birdies on 36 holes.
Jacob Wilson is one shot back from Adkins (-2), tied for ninth place.
Bryson Mercier is tied for 23rd place (+2). The team is rounded out by
Jake Olson in a tie for 37th (+4).
The Jackrabbits have four players competing individually.
Caleb Kern is 1-over par and in 18th place.
Parker Brock is +2 through two rounds and is tied with Mercier in 23rd.
Drew Teeter is also competing individually and is tied in 29th (+3), followed by
Hayden Scott in 71st place (+20).
At -10 as a team, the Jackrabbits are four shots ahead of Youngstown State in second place.
NOTES
- SDSU leads all teams on par-4 holes, averaging 4.03 shots.
- The Jackrabbits tallied a par score on 115 holes, the most of all participating teams.
UP NEXT
The final round of the Jackrabbit Invitational will be played Tuesday.
