BROOKINGS, S.D. – The South Dakota State men's golf team has provided another boost to its 2026-27 roster as Charlie Allen has signed his financial paperwork to join the Jackrabbits this fall.

Allen makes his way to Brookings with previous experience in the Midwest.
The incoming Jackrabbit graduated from Cactus Shadows High School in Scottsdale, Ariz., in 2024. He began his prep tenure at Cactus Shadows in the fall of 2020 after originally hailing from Minnesota.
Allen got his freshman season started strong by helping Cactus Shadows claim the Arizona Division 2 Boys Golf State Championship. He finished second on his team, and ninth individually, as Allen shot a 5-under-par 141 in the tournament. Allen was a participant at the state tournament in Arizona all four years of his prep career, also taking 18th individually as a senior. He made two MSHSL tournament appearances while as a seventh and eighth grader when his family lived in Minnesota.
His time at Cactus Shadows also saw him compete in basketball. He was an all-region honorable mention selection as a senior for the Falcons.
Allen has continued to compete on the course since his high school graduation. Recently, he qualified and participated in the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship which took place in Scottsdale. He and his playing partner made the cut following stroke play, advancing to the match play portion of the event at the Desert Mountain Club.
