2024-25:
OUTDOOR: Opened the season with a pole vault PR of 14-07.25 (4.45m) to take 12th at the USD Early Bird (4/5)... Placed 12th in pole vault once again, this time by clearing 14-03.25 (4.35m) at the South Dakota Challenge (4/11)... Rounded out the year with a top 10 finish with a height of 14-01.25 (4.30m) at the USD Twilight (5/9).
INDOOR: Joined SDSU at semester... First competed for the Jacks at the USD Alumni Meet where he placed in the top 10 in pole vault with a jump of 13-02.25 (4.02m) (1/18)... Continued to improve throughout the season, eventually landing a top-five finish with a jump of 14-01.25 (4.30m) at the Mount Marty Last Chance Meet (2/7)... PRed with a mark of 14-05.25 (4.40m) to finish eighth at the SDSU Indoor Classic (2/14).

Before SDSU:
Hawkes was a pole vault standout at Madison High School of South Dakota. During his time in high school, Hawkes posted the pole vault school record, conference record, and regional record. His pole vault PR from this time was 15-00.00 set in 2023. Hawkes outstanding performance earned him First Team All-Conference from 2021-2024. Outside of athletics, Hawkes was the Student Body President in 2023-2024, National Honors Society member from 2022-2024, and Summa Cum Laude 2024. Hawkes is the son of Mark and Joy Hawkes and enjoys playing piano and pickle ball in his free time.
