Alex Shattuck joined the South Dakota State golf program as assistant coach in August of 2019.
The Sioux Falls native graduated from The College of William & Mary where he golfed for four years, competing in a total of 17 events.
Shattuck made it to the semifinals of the 2018 South Dakota Match Play and won the event in 2017 while medaling in stroke play. He also qualified for and competed at the 2017 USGA Four-Ball at Pinehurst and 2015 Boyd Quaich at St. Andrews.
The 2018 graduate earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from William and Mary where he also earned the President’s Award for best exemplifying “citizenship, sportsmanship, and leadership.”
Before William and Mary, he graduated from Lake Mary Prep in Florida and participated in the Elite Program at Mike Bender Golf Academy for two years.
Shattuck also worked and caddied at The Prairie Club in the summer of 2018.
