MADISON, Wis. -- The South Dakota State University volleyball team suffered its first losses of the season, dropping two matches Saturday at the Wisconsin Inntowner Invitational.
The Jackrabbits, 5-2 overall, fell to ninth-ranked Wisconsin in the opener, before being swept by Oklahoma later in the day.
Wisconsin 3, SDSU 0
SDSU was limited to a .025 team hitting percentage in falling to the Badgers 30-12, 30-24 and 31-29.
Minette Ridenour was the lone Jackrabbit in double figures for kills with 10, while completing her sixth consecutive double-double with 10 digs.
Kristie Klusaw tallied 17 assists and Samantha Pearson added 18 digs.
Wisconsin's Maria Carlini led all players with 18 kills, while Audra Jeffers contributed 10 kills.
The Badgers improved to 3-1.
Oklahoma 3, SDSU 0
The Jackrabbits never were able to get on track as Oklahoma cruised to a 30-17, 30-19, 30-19 sweep.
The Sooners turned in a .383 hitting percentage, committing just 10 errors while collecting 21 more kills than SDSU, 56-35.
Joanna Schmitt led Oklahoma with 14 kills. Eliane Santos collected 12 kills, while hitting .522 (12 kills, no errors in 23 attempts). Sarah Weiland added 11 kills.
All-tournament selection Kristina Martin led the Jackrabbits with nine kills, while Ridenour and Emily Rooney each chipped in with eight kills.
Klusaw was credited with 29 assists and Pearson led all players with 15 digs.
SDSU returns to action Friday at Drake (Iowa). Start time is 7 p.m. in Des Moines.
