FORT WAYNE, Ind.--South Dakota State swept Robert Morris (Pa.) in three Satuday afternoon in final round action at the IPFW Volleyball Invitational in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Minette Ridenour and Kristina Martin led the offensive attack for the Jacks as SDSU won by scores of 30-23, 30-23, 30-24. Ridenour, a senior from Council Bluffs, Iowa, finished the day with 13 kills on 30 attempts. Martin, who hit .435 for the match (11 kills, 1 error in 23 attempts), finished with 11 kills.
Robert Morris was led offensively by Emily Wolthuis who had 10 kills on 28 attempts.
Kristie Klusaw totaled 23 set assists as SDSU out-hit the Colonials .231 to .093 for the match, including a .419 to .154 advantage in game No. 2.
South Dakota State, 12-5 on the year, had four players with seven digs, while RMU's Alaina Gibson recorded a match high 14 digs.
Both Kristina Martin and Amy Anderson were named to the all-tournament team following a solid weekend in Fort Wayne.
SDSU will next be in action at the Blackbird Holiday Inn Express Challenge hosted by Long Island University in Brooklyn, N.Y. The Jacks will take on Sacred Heart (Conn.) Sept. 29. Start time for the match is set for 5 p.m. Eastern Time (4 p.m. Central Time).
