GREEN BAY - Wis. Jessica Ferley set a school record in the 1000 freestyle in the first of two duals against Wisconsin-Green Bay on Saturday as the South Dakota State women's swimming and diving team lost both duals 155-87 and 213-83.
Ferley's time of 10 minutes, 43.74 seconds broke the old school record set by teammate Christina Gerometta last season at the Summit League Championships. Ferley would also go on to win the 100 backstroke event in the afternoon with a finish of 1:00.95
Gerometta would win an individual event as well claiming the 200 freestyle in 1:58.56.
Katie Budahl, a senior from Mitchell, S.D., stayed perfect on the season in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.66) as she won the event for the third time in three duals this season during the afternoon. In the morning dual, Budahl placed first with a winning 200 breaststroke time of 2:19.99
Junior Alexandra Hoffman won her 15th career event as she finished the 200 backstroke in 2:09.69
The Jacks return to action next week with a double header at the HPER Center Pool. They host Northern Iowa and Northern Colorado for a pair of triangulars beginning at 10 a.m., with another scheduled for 2 p.m.
