ORLANDO, Fla. ? The South Dakota State women's tennis team came up just short in a 4-3 loss to Bryant (R.I.) on Tuesday at the Orlando Classic in Orlando, Fla.
The Jackrabbits fall to 5-6 in duals with the loss, but can get back to the .500 mark on Wednesday against La Salle.
SDSU won the No. 4 ? No.6 singles matches, but could not get the decisive doubles win, as the Bulldogs won all three of those matches.
Nellie Bloomberg won her No. 4 singles match 6-2, 6-2, Megan McDougall won No. 5 singles 6-1, 7-5 and Katie Elifson won No. 6 singles 6-2, 6-0.
Carrie Jansen played her No. 3 singles opponent to a tiebreaker, but came up on the short end by the score of 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8).
Bryna Nasenbeny and Caitlin Brannen came up just short in No. 1 doubles, falling to the Bryant team 9-7, as did Carrie Jansen and Nellie Bloomberg at No. 2 doubles.
