Stacy Huss and
Amanda Frohling were named to the
ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team for women's track & field/cross country.
Huss, a senior from Fort Pierre, S.D., earned a 3.97 GPA in sociology/pre-law at SDSU. She is the school record holder in the outdoor 400-meter hurdles and the 4x400 relay. Indoors, she holds the record in the 600-meter run and the distance medley relay.
Frohling, a junior from Yankton, has a 4.0 GPA in biology/pre-physical therapy. A member of the Summit League championship cross country team in 2008, Froholing has lettered in both cross country and track for the Jackrabbits. She placed 11th in the 10,000-meter run at the 2008 Summit League Outdoor Championships and placed 21st at the 2006 Division I Independent Cross Country Championships.
Selections to the team are based on votes by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America from South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana.
Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in athletic standing, maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.3 and be a starter or key reserve.
