After two straight weeks on the road, the Jackrabbits return home seven of their final nine matches, including three this week, starting with Drake on?Tuesday, before hosting IUPUI and Western Illinois over the weekend.
The Jackrabbits split a Summit League weekend yet again, extending their streak to six straight league weekend splits, dating back to the final weekend of 2009 and excluding single-match weekends against North Dakota State.
SDSU opened last weekend with a 3-2 loss at IPFW, only to rebound with a tough 3-2 win over Oakland on Saturday.
The Jacks hope to break that streak with a air of wins over the weekend, but need to first set their sights on Drake, who comes to Frost Arena on?Tuesday for a 6 p.m. start. Both weekend matches begin at 7 p.m.
Ellyce Youngren leads the Jackrabbit offense after 20 matches with 238 kills and with 22 service aces. Kelli Fiegen ranks second on the team with 224 kills, leads all hitters with a .359 hitting percentage, and easily leads the team and with 101 total blocks, 35 solo and 66 block assists. Thyele Rechatiko handles the setting duties for the Jackrabbits and leads the team with 10 double-doubles, while libero Shay Birath leads the Jackrabbit defense with 303 digs.
FIEGEN BREAKS FIVE SET RECORD - Middle blocker Kelli Fiegen broke the Jackrabbit record for hitting percentage in a five set match on Oct. 8, with 17 kills in 27 swings with just one error for an astounding .593 hitting percentage and led the Jacks to a 3-2 over Western Illinois in the process. Fiegen broke the old mark of .550 (12-1-20) set by Kim Bostrom vs. Harding (Ark.), on Aug. 31, 2002.
JACKRABBITS 'DIG PINK' ON SATURDAY - The Jackrabbit volleyball team Digs Pink for breast cancer awareness this Saturday at Frost Arena, when the Jacks host Western Illinois in the annual Dig Pink match starting at 7 p.m.
Jackrabbit players don custom Nike uniforms with pink numbers and lettering for the match. The jerseys feature player names and the Summit League logo on the back.
Starting on Monday, fans can bid on the game worn jerseys in an auction on
GoJacks.com with all proceeds going to benefit the Sideout Foundation for breast cancer research.
FREE VOLLEYBALL ON HOBO DAY - Jackrabbit fans that attend Saturday's Hobo Day football game against Youngstown State get free admittance to the Jackrabbit volleyball match with their football ticket stub.
The Jacks and Penguins kick-off at 2 p.m. from Coughlin Alumni Stadium, while the Jackrabbit volleyball team takes on Western Illinois from Frost Arena at 7 p.m.
FEED THE FANS - Prior to Friday's match against IUPUI, Jackrabbit volleyball fans can get a free burger and a drink, compliments of Burger King.
RABBITS ON THE RADIO - All Jackrabbit volleyball home matches can be heard on KJJQ 910 A.M., with Kolbe Nelson doing the play-by-play. Â
The pre-game show starts approximately 20 minutes before first serve.

Drake Bulldogs (18-5, 4-5 Valley) - The Bulldogs, who opened the season with 14 straight wins, snapped a season-long three match skid on Saturday with a 3-1 home win over Creighton in their only match of the week.
Angela Bys leads the Drake attack with 333 kills, with 17 service aces and with 14 solo blocks. She also adds 207 digs and 11 block assists. Emily Heffernen ranks second on the team with 185 kills to go along with her team-high .335 hitting percentage and 72 total blocks. Caitlin Johnson leads Drake with 556 set assists, while Alana Wittenburg leads the team with 501 digs.
The Series vs. Drake - The Jackrabbits lead the all-time series 8-3. Drake won the first two meetings in the early 1970s, the Jacks won the next eight meetings from 1975-2008 and Drake won the last meeting 3-0, on Oct. 7, 2009, in Des Moines, Iowa.
IUPUI?Jaguars (6-16, 5-6 Summit) - The Jaguars enter the week tied with the Jackrabbits for sixth in The Summit League standings after splitting a home weekend with a 3-1 loss to Southern Utah and a 3-2 win over UMKC.
Kalyse Reimbold leads IUPUI with 212 kills and ranks second on the team with 220 digs. None of the Jaguar hitters enter the week with a hitting percentage above .200. Alexis Meeks leads the Jags with 619 set assists and Shari Bernhardt leads the team with 438 digs.
The First Meeting vs. IUPUI (10/9 at IUPUI) - One night after squeaking out a five-set win at Western Illinois, the South Dakota State volleyball team came up on the short end of a 3-0 Summit League match on Saturday, Oct. 9, at IUPUI.Â
The Series vs. IUPUI - The Jackrabbits lead the all-time series 4-3. The?Jacks swept the season series in 2007 and then split the season series in both 2008 and 2009, including a pair of five-set contests in 2008.
Western Illinois Fighting Leathernecks (6-14, 2-9 Summit) - The Leathernecks, who play at North Dakota State on Friday, dropped nine of their last 10 matches, including a pair of Summit League losses at home over the weekend to UMKC and Southern Utah.
Allison Gilbert leads WIU with 214 kills, and even though Cait Egan ranks second on the team with 191 kills, she leads the Leathernecks with a .288 hitting percentage, with 20 services aces, 20 solo blocks and with 51 block assists. Heather Smith does the majority of the setting and Bridget Murphy leads the team with 267 digs.
The First Meeting vs. Western Illinois (10/8 at WIU) - Kelli Fiegen broke the Jackrabbit record for hitting percentage in a five set match with 17 kills in 27 swings with just one error for an astounding .593 hitting percentage and led the Jacks to a 3-2 win.
The Series vs. Western Illinois - The Jackrabbits lead the all-time series 7-1, including a 3-0 win in the 2007 Summit League Tournament. The lone Western win came on Nov. 1, 2008, a 3-0 sweep in Macomb, Ill.
NEXT UP FOR THE JACKRABBITS - The Jackrabbits return to the road for the final time in 2010, starting with a match on?Thursday at Southern Utah, followed by a Saturday match at UMKC.
The Jacks fell in five sets in the first meeting with SUU at Frost Arena, and beat UMKC 3-1 in the first meeting.
