The South Dakota State volleyball team remains on the road this week with Summit League matches at Centenary and Oral Roberts on the weekend slate.
The Jackrabbits open the weekend on Friday in Shreveport, La., against the Centenary Ladies at 7 p.m. in the Gold Dome, and then travel to Tulsa, Okla., to take on the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles on Sunday in the Cooper Aerobics Center at 2 p.m.
The Jacks hit the road after going 1-2 last weekend at the Doublewood Inn Classic hosted by North Dakota State in?Fargo, N.D. The Jacks opened the weekend with a 3-1 loss to North Dakota on Friday, and then dropped a 3-0 match against the host Bison on Saturday afternoon before closing the weekend with a 3-1 win over South Dakota on Saturday afternoon.Â
Ellyce Youngren leads the Jackrabbit offense after 11 matches with 143 kills and ranks second on the team with 106 digs. Kelli Fiegen ranks second on the team with 120 kills, and easily leads the team and with 64 total blocks, 18 solo and 46 block assists. Fiegen's 1.42 blocks per set average also ranks 12th in the nation. Thyele Rechatiko handles the setting duties for the Jackrabbits, while Shay Birath wears libero jersey.
RABBITS ON THE RADIO - All Jackrabbit volleyball home matches can be heard on KJJQ 910 A.M., with Kolbe Nelson doing the play-by-play.
The pre-game show starts approximately 20 minutes before first serve.

THIS WEEK'S COMPETITION
Centenary Ladies (3-8, 0-4 Summit) - The Ladies enter the week riding a six match losing streak and a 43 match losing streak in league play. Centenary last won a Summit League match on Oct. 27, 2007, when they beat UMKC?3-0.
Stevie Hurlbirt leads the Centenary offense with 108 kills, but does so with a .142 hitting percentage. Shelby Singleton, the only player on the team with a hitting percentage over .200, leads the Ladies with a .331 hitting percentage and ranks second on the team with 89 kills.
The Series vs. Centenary - After falling to Southern Utah on Sept. 11, Centenary became the only team on the league to never beat the Jackrabbits, who lead the all-time series 6-0, all of them by the same 3-0 score.Â
Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (5-6, 3-1 Summit) - The Golden Eagles enter the week after a split with UMKC and Southern Utah last weekend. ORU downed UMKC 3-1 in Kansas City and fell in straight sets at Southern Utah.
Elizabeth McVicker leads the ORU?offense with 96 kills, and does so at a .377 clip with just 19 errors in 204 total attacks. She also leads the Golden eagles with 10 solo blocks and ranks second on the team with 25 block assists and 35 total blocks.
Cassidy Holmes leads a well balanced ORU defense with 116 digs and Laura Taylor leads the team with 252 set assists.
The Series vs. Oral Roberts - The Golden?Eagles lead the all-time series 4-2. The teams split the season series in both 2007 and 2009, with each team winning on its home floor. ORU?swept the season series in 2008.
NEXT UP FOR THE JACKRABBITS - The Jackrabbits return home next week to host Oakland on Friday and IPFW?on Saturday in Summit League Action. Both matches begin at 7 p.m. in Frost Arena.
The Jacks dropped all four matches against next weeks opponents in 2009, falling in five sets at Oakland and falling in straight sets in all of the other three meetings.
