ORLANDO, FLA. - A pair of close losses for the South Dakota State women's tennis team to Mt. St. Mary's (Md.) and Seton Hall dropped the Jacks to 1-5 on the season as they continue their week long stay in the Sunshine State.
The Jacks lost a heartbreaker to Mt. St. Mary's 4-3 on Tuesday despite splitting the singles competition.
Bryna Nasenbeny defeated Kelly Conroy 6-4, 6-1 at #3, while #6 Natalia Medina also won in straight sets 6-4, 6-0.
Megan McDougall came back in the #4 singles match after losing the first set 2-6 to take the final two sets 6-4, 6-0.
The #1 doubles duo of Jenny Blackburne and Brooke Henry combined to win an 8-5 decision over Emily Bolchoz and Renee Deane.
On Wednesday, SDSU dropped a 5-2 decision to Seton Hall with the two Jackrabbit points coming from #5 Bethany Goeden and #6 Katie Elifson winning by walkover. The #3 doubles team of Medina and McDougall also won by walkover.
SDSU takes on St. Joseph's on Thursday followed by Florida A&M on Saturday.
