SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Day one of the three-day Summit League women's tennis cluster in Sioux Falls got underway on Thursday as South Dakota State lost to Oral Roberts 4-2, before coming back to shutout Centenary 4-0.
Against the Golden Eagles, the Jacks had two singles victories as #3 Bryna Nasenbeny defeated Tori Dollar 6-4, 7-5 and #5 Megan McDougall defeated Rachel Scroggs 6-1, 6-2.
Katie Elifson at #6 won the first set 6-0 before the match was called.
In doubles action, Nasenbeny and McDougall were trailing 8-7 at #2.
Match two of the day saw SDSU (4-11, 1-4 Summit) sweep Centenary 4-0 by winning all three doubles matches and all three singles contests.
#2 Brooke Henry swept Holden Penney 6-0, 6-0 while #5 McDougall also won in straight sets 6-0, 6-2. Eilfson won at #6 by default.
The Jacks have a single match tomorrow as they face off against Western Illinois in Sioux Falls starting at 12:30 p.m.
