The South Dakota State men's and women's tennis teams faltered at Creighton to close out the weekend...
On the women's side, Megan McDougall was the bright spot, earning a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles.
Brooke Henry and Jenny Blackburne were close at No. 1 doubles, but dropped an 8-6 decision.
Blackburne also played a tough singles match, but fell 7-5 in the second set.
SDSU dropped to 1-2 on the season.
On the men's side, Parker Lawley and James Thorp fought hard at No. 1 doubles, but were bested in a tiebreaker.
In singles, Thorp went to three sets at No. 4 singles, but could not pull out the victory. Lawley dropped a tough 7-6, 6-4 decision at No. 3, as well.
The Jacks dropped to 2-2 on the season.
Next weekend offers a full slate of tennis.
The women travel north to face North Dakota on Friday and St. Cloud State on Saturday. Meet times are set for 2 p.m. and 11 a.m., respectively, in Grand Forks, N.D.
The men head east to face Marquette (Wis.) on Saturday and Chicago State on Sunday. Meet times are set for 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., respectively, in Milwaukee and Chicago.
